A Soundbox is a small audio device used by merchants to instantly confirm digital payments through voice alerts. It acts as a real-time payment notification speaker so the merchant doesn't need to check their phone or app constantly.
After the customer initiates a digital payment, the payment is processed through the bank/UPI network and the merchant’s account receives a confirmation. The Soundbox, which is linked to the merchant’s bank account, has a SIM card, a small processor, and a speaker. When the firmware detects a successful payment, a notification is pushed to the specific Soundbox assigned to that merchant. The Soundbox announces the payment instantly with an audio confirmation. This ensures that the merchant doesn’t need to check their screen. It also helps in noisy or high-traffic environments, prevents fraud and speeds up the transaction line.
