An automotive cluster, also known as an instrument cluster, is the primary display console located directly behind a vehicle's steering wheel that communicates vital real-time data to the driver. In a traditional sense, it consists of analog gauges such as the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and engine temperature indicator, along with various warning lights known as tell-tales. However, modern automotive clusters have evolved into sophisticated digital interfaces using high-resolution TFT or LCD screens that can be customized to show navigation maps, multimedia information, and advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) alerts. Beyond the hardware in the dashboard, the term can also refer to an industrial automotive cluster, which is a geographical region where car manufacturers, parts suppliers, and research institutions co-locate to increase economic efficiency and accelerate innovation within the global supply chain.
